Ethiopian 19th century anklet of heavy silver, with gild and with an underlay of red foil underneath, decorated with tiny bells and glass. These sets are given as a bridal dowry by Nobility. Guilding is done with permission of the King or Emperor, at that time the Emperor, Menelik II.
